WHAT DOES ACTION LOOK LIKE?

Over the last several years, I have increased my commitment to public education, strengthened and supported nonprofit organizations of all shapes and sizes, and deepened my understanding of what it means to be an active participant in one’s community. Change happens in all forms, but I am most interested in the weekly grind of rolling up your sleeves and doing the tedious work the brings about real, long lasting change. It’s planting the seeds for the trees whose shade you will never sit under. The work is important, even if we don’t experience the outcomes.

What’s next?

Lauren is thrilled to join The Opp Project as its Executive Director. The Opp Project, Tulsa’s expanded learning intermediary, is on a mission to ensure that all Tulsa youth have access to afterschool and summer school programs that are safe, dynamic, and engaging.

Advocating for expanded learning:

At The Opportunity Project, we believe that young people succeed and our communities thrive when we invest in afterschool and summer school programming.

About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I am a nonprofit arts leader and education advocate from Chicago, now living in Tulsa, OK.

I believe that activity - action and energy, showing up, listening first and responding second - makes our neighborhoods stronger, safer, and more dynamic.

We all have a responsibility to do our part.
